South of Perth Yacht Club
The South of Perth Yacht Club is located at the confluence of the Swan River and Canning River with sweeping views back to the Perth city skyline. The yacht club has two function rooms available for private hire at very reasonable rates. The main ballroom has spectacular Swan River and city views at ground level, the Wardroom is upstairs. The venue also hires a beachside marquee.
Weddings at the South of Perth Yacht Club
The front lawn and riverside are often used for a civil wedding ceremony for couples looking for an ‘all at one venue’ wedding location. The wedding transport is often used to drive to feature wedding photo locations in the area or around Perth city while the guest relax at the venue.
The main ballroom has access to the front lawn and river foreshore during your wedding ceremony. Entry to the Wardroom is the road side of the building whilst your wedding cars can drive to the front lawn when using the main ballroom, like the Rolls Royce Wraith limousine below.
Limousine access to the yacht club
As you can see from the photographs on the page both classic wedding cars like our Jaguar Mk5 sedans and stretch Chrysler limousines can negotiate the venue with ease. On busy days when the car park reaches capacity during the afternoon it may mean more difficult access for Hummer or Chrysler limousines. Your chauffeur will judge the safety of driving within the car park on these rare occasions.
The entrance to the yacht club is controlled by a boom gate, meaning your guests’ cars have secure parking. The gate opens automatically when you are departing. On occasions, it has been difficult to raise staff with the gate intercom when arriving for a late-night get-away; it may be useful to have somebody watching out for your chauffeur car ten minutes before your planned departure. It is a long walk from the clubhouse to the front gate if your ride is stuck at the front gate.
