Sittella Winery
Sittella Winery is one of our personal favourite restaurants. At night when it is used as a reception centre it has been the venue for a family wedding and we loved the atmosphere. Whether you are planning a Swan Valley wedding or just looking for a great stop during a fun day out with family of friends, it is worth while enjoying a long lunch on the verandah overlooking the vineyard and the lake.
Weddings at Sittella Winery
Situated in the Swan Valley Belle Classic Limousines assist with many Sittella Winery weddings. There is always a thrill in the air when your wedding guests see the bridal car approaching along the road from their vantage near the gazebo.
If you are using the venue for your wedding consider which way you want the wedding cars to face in your wedding photos so the driver knows which entrance to use. The photo above entered through the top gate near the winery and the cars are positioned for the following photos.
If your wedding cars enter through the main gate you will have pastures in the background during your exit (from the front of the cars) or the back of the cars showing in a picture of the winery.
Either way, the cars can be rearranged by the chauffeurs for various pictures after the ceremony. For couples who choose and ‘all at one venue’ wedding ceremony and reception at Sittella Winery evening pre-reception drinks are often served on the lawn for your guests while the wedding party is off having feature photographs in the Swan valley.
Couples often comment how pleased they were with the service and venue when we are driving them to their end of night location from Sittella Winery.
Wedding car and limousine access
The architectural lines of the rammed earth restaurant and winery are well suited to classic and vintage wedding cars. Larger Chrysler wedding limos will need to do a multi-point turn to enter or leave the location via the northern access but this does not restrict their use. Larger limos parked in the grounds for an extended period do restrict the traffic flow through the driveway and the adjacent parking area. Large buses for guests will need to park on the verges across from the winery (a 100 – 200 meter walk).
Wedding photo locations
The winery itself, with the beautiful building, gazebo and grape vines down the slope to the lake is very picturesque. The Sittella Winery gates are also a popular photo location with classic wedding cars.
It is a short journey (400 meters) to Swan River and other valley locations a short drive away for spectacular wedding photography to complement those taken at the winery (see the photo below). Belle will do multiple trips to this photo location with your bridal party to save them walking. Bells Rapids is another popular photo location nearby (10-15 minutes each way).
Wine tasting and restaurant
Sittella Winery produce a wonderful range of quality wines. Their sparkling wines are a favourite of Sue at Belle Classic Limousines. The tasting room is well appointed with a range of condiments and trinkets for sale and the commentary about the wines is well informed.
The restaurant has a great menu and the balcony is a great place to spend a lazy lunch and enjoy a bottle of your favourite wine from the tasting.

Sittella Winery
The winery has two entrances from Barrett Street as you drive from the Great Northern Highway. The obvious entrance is through the main gates, the first set of gates that you encounter. Unless instructed otherwise by a bridal party, Belle drivers are requested to use the second entrance just past the winery and to drive back through the parking area. This means pictures taken of the winery or through the main gates will feature the front of the cars.
For weddings it is usual to park on the edge of the drive through with the wedding cars positioned nicely for photographs. A popular photograph shows the front of the bridal car as the bridal party walks to the gazebo for the ceremony.

The great majority of couples choose to stay close to Sittella Winery for wedding photography. The Sittella grounds, buildings, gazebo and lake usually feature significantly in the ceremony photography so it is common for photographers to use some different aspects for the feature wedding photos.

The river end of Barrett Street
Over the crest of Barrett Street past Sittella Winery the road slopes down to the river foot bridge. The road verge has a large shady tree with a view out over a vineyard to the river reserve which is a favourite photo location. The outlook changes with the seasons and time of day and many beautiful pictures are taken in the area including a few earlier in this page and many in our Sittella Winery gallery.
Bells Rapids
Bells Rapids reserve is a 10 minute drive from Sittella Winery if you are looking for a more earthy backdrop. The rocky riverbed, bridge over the river and red dirt gravel roads in the reserve offer many different textures. In late winter and spring the whitewater in the river adds another element to the location.
Be warned that the clay based soils in the area can be slippery and muddy after rain and will always have a little red dust to your wedding dress. It is probably not the best location if you are going to be overly concerned about a little dirt.
End of night get-aways
For Sittella Winery along with several other Swan Valley locations it is better to pre-book your end of night transport. Short call chauffeur services and taxis are in peak demand as possibly more than twenty wedding locations end the night between 11.00pm – 12.00 midnight, especially on Saturday nights.
Belle chauffeurs will enter the venue from the top entrance and face the main gates with the get-away car lined up to the path outside the main door. This allows guests to view the car leaving through the main gates. If you have other plans please let us know before the evening.
Wine tour parking
Most wine tour stops at Sittella Winery involve parking one of the limousines during a lunch break. Enter the winery through the second entrance and park the limousine edged on the lawn to both allow traffic to drive through the car park area and also not interfere with the photography and drop offs if there is a lunch time wedding using the gazebo.
On very busy days it may be necessary to drop-off the wine tour group and get them settled for lunch and then park the limousine out on the road verge until the group are ready to leave.
