The beautiful venue boasts a well-regarded restaurant that has recently been renamed Riverbrook, which also caters for weddings and functions and a modern tasting room where you can sample a well-crafted range of wines.

Riverbrook Restaurant

With an open verandah and an outlook over the vines to the Swan River reserve Riverbrook Restaurant is a wonderful place to relax for lunch whilst on a Swan Valley tour. The restaurant offers a range of tapas style share plates and a selection of different grazing plates designed for two people. Desserts and Upper Reach wines are also available in the restaurant. Riverbrook is also the reception space available for weddings. Menus and pricing are available on-line. Bookings are recommended and the balcony is usually the most sort location.

The venue caters for ‘all at one venue’ weddings with the courtyard tree a popular ceremony location. The venue supports both formal sit down receptions and cocktail style receptions.

If you are having your ceremony and reception at the venue you will need to decide if you wish to be dropped in front of the winery or driven to the ceremony lawn. With the red gravel drive many brides prefer to be dropped at the rear lawn. Access to the rear lawn is better suited to smaller limousines and classic bridal cars because there is no turning space for longer stretched limos.

Parking at Upper Reach Winery

There is ample parking at Upper Reach for a typical number of guest’s cars for a wedding ceremony and reception. The gravel drive is usually well maintained with the only problem being it may become a little muddy on wet days. The car parking area extends for a few hundred metres back along the drive way back towards the entrance and one consideration would be to reserve some parking near the winery buildings for aged or handicapped guests. They will certainly appreciate the nearer location at the end of the night when they are leaving.

End of night chauffeur cars

Plan your end of night get-away in advance at Upper Reach Winery. Being located at the northern end of the Swan Valley, and then 100s of metres off the highway and down the long driveway you can be sure on-demand transport options like taxis and Uber cars will be hard to attract to Upper Reach. The safest option for the bride and groom (and close family) is pre-booked chauffer car from a reputable supplier.

Warn your guests. Taxis and Uber cars frequent popular locations where they are likely to attract several jobs in succession. Add this to the fact that most weddings, hotels and entertainment venues end the night between 11.00pm and midnight when demand for transport surges. We have seen guests walking back to the highway at the end of the night in desperation because taxis do not turn up. It is a lonely spot to be waiting after midnight when all the staff have left for the evening.

Wine tours

The preferred drop-off and pick-up is directly in front of the main entrance. If the restaurant is busy the car park near the entrance will be congested. Stop and let your guests alight and guide them to the tasting room or restaurant as required. Return to drive the limousine to a suitable parking location.

Ceremony drop-off

Confirm with the bride on arrival to the property whether she wants to be dropped at the entrance or the rear lawn (which is access by driving around the left hand side of the winery).

Reception drop-off

The reception drop-off is usually at the main entrance door unless otherwise requested. In most cases the couple will arrive at the venue well before the reception to have feature photographs at the venue. Position the wedding car as required by the photographer.

End of night get-away

End of night pick-ups will always be from the main entrance. Position the car for a direct exit into the vehicle and leave room for guests who may come out to wish them farewell.
