Mounts Bay Road trees
The trees in the car park (on the Kings Park side of Mounts Bay Road near the Old Swan Brewery) make a wonderful backdrop for wedding photography. The venue is a popular destination for wedding photographers looking for a leafy shaded backdrop near the city. The soft light and variety of backgrounds in the small inner city location means it features in many wedding albums for couples whose wedding ceremony or reception is based near Perth city.
The combination of the row of Plane trees and the gnarled roots of enormous fig trees means that your photographer can get a range of ‘location’ shots and wedding car photos at the one venue – all a short walk off busy Mounts Bay Road. The earthy red gravel drive and the mat of autumn leaves through winter means there are lots of contrasting colours and seasonal textures at the location.

Access to the parking area is achieved off the left lane of Mounts bay Road while heading to the city. To a certain extent the experience at the location can vary greatly depending upon the number of people visiting the spot at any time. When empty of cars the photographer often capture spectacular pictures involving the row of Plane trees. When busy, photographers may be limited to the bushland setting behind the trees because of interference by random cars parked between the trees.
Classic wedding cars like the Jaguar Mk5 convertibles can negotiate the car park with ease and be positioned in a numerous aspects for photos.
Stretch Chrysler limos are often limited to parking in the pull-off zone adjacent to the car park on Mounts Bay Road. In such cases they are not readily available for photos at the site. When the car park is empty and Mounts bay Road less busy it may be possible for limos to enter the eastern end of the car park.
