The Jaguar Mk7-9 saloons were the first large bodied sedans to be built by Jaguar. The large car with sweeping curves became the stablemate to the amazing Jaguar XK sports cars built during the 1950’s.
The first variation, the Jaguar Mk7 sedans came with typical Jaguar trim including leather interiors with walnut burl timber coachwork that branded it as a luxury British limousine. The model progressed through to Mk8 and Mk9 with minimal changes to the bodywork that took it from a somewhat bland Mk7 to the stylish Mk9 which used chrome trim and sculptured spats to greatly enhance the curved style lines.. By the end of the 1950’s the Jaguar Mk9 saloon also had a more advanced mechanical pedigree than its forebears including disc brakes, automatic transmission and power steering.
Jaguar Mk9 Wedding Car
Belle Classic Limousines is proud to offer Perth’s only Jaguar Mk9 saloon is styled with raking curves and barely a flat panel on the car. The sedans are a similar size to the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud but with a sleeker look in photographs. They do have slightly less head room but are comparable in other dimensions such as seat width and leg room. The rear wheel spats (or fender skirts) cover the whole wheel on Mk7-8 sedans and have the small cut out on the Mk9 sedans which greatly improves the appearance of the Jaguar Mk9 wedding car in both street appeal and wedding photographs.
The Jaguar Mk9 saloon is a five passenger sedan. We recommend the Jaguar is limited to four passengers. Whilst four passengers is fine for wedding party use we do recommend that you limit them to three passengers when used as a bridal car.
The Jaguars mix and match well with the Rolls Royce limousines and Chrysler limos to obtain the correct number of seats for your wedding party or to build a different set of cars to those that may have been used at a friend’s wedding.
The Jaguars complement modern Chrysler limousines as both have high wheel arches, a large grill, high side lines and a relatively narrow window height. Belle Classic limousines are all ivory in colour so they fit with each other in any combination.
