The Crown complex has become Perth’s main entertainment zone since adding new restaurants and gaming floor space. With the combination of hotels, theatres, ballrooms and function centre with standout restaurants like Rockpool Bar and Grill, Merrywell and Nobu it is a must visit venue.
Weddings at Crown Perth
Since its redevelopment Crown Perth has become one of the most frequented venues for weddings. It is a very popular as:
- an end of night get-away location (especially for couples who intend to party on after their reception).
- a venue for brides to prepare on the morning of their wedding
- a reception venue for large weddings with its variety of ballrooms.
Limousine access to the Crown venues
Crown Casino and the associated hotels, the Crown Metropol and Crown Promenade, share a common limousine drop-off road which leads to three different set-down zones. It is important to clearly communicate which of the three zones you wish to use and to adhere to the designated pick-up time. When traffic around the complex was first modified with the taxi rank moving to the city side of the building the traffic flow was good except for short busy periods around the start or close of events in the ballroom or theatre. More recently casino staff have been permitting taxis to queue at the casino drop-off zones which can impede traffic flow on a consistent basis so there is often short delays at set-down.
The Metropol set-down and pick-up zone can be most prone to congestion during event starting and finishing times. The doormen at the Metropol usually keep the chauffeur cars and limos moving through the area, however it is not uncommon for several private cars to stop and wait for friends or guests to leave the venue in the area and thus prevent traffic flow. If you are every arranging to be picked up at Crown it helps to be ‘in the zone’ when you car arrives.
For pick-ups at busy times your Belle chauffeur may stop in the lower car bays and call ahead to better coordinate getting your group together and having the limousine or wedding cars arrive just before yo exit the Crown complex.
The Promenade is the easiest set-down zone to access being at the start of the loop road. It also has the smallest stopping area so you cannot expect cars or limos to wait at the door for more than a minute or two.
The Casino set-down zone is large enough for all stretch Hummer and Chrysler limos to easily negotiate the drive through. Congestion since the area has been permitting taxis to queue there means there can be delays at set-down. Like all of the Crown zones there is limited standing time possible so arriving promptly at the designated pick-up time is essential of the limo will need to loop back to the car park which could take several minutes during a busy period.
Crown Theatre and ballrooms
The drop off location for the Crown Theatre and ballrooms can be either the Metropol entrance or the Casino entrance. The theatre and ballrooms’ entrance is located opposite the Merriwell Bar and they do not have a designated set down zone. On formal occasions guests often like to be delivered to the Metropol entrance, however if an event has a narrow arrival time there may be a lot of congestion around the loop road with delays of twenty minutes to get to the entrance possible. The Casino entrance is usually the easiest for limousines to enter and exit from and preferable on busy nights if this is suitable for you on your occasion.
