Monument Hill Fremantle
Monument Hill is well known in many circles. The park grounds are foremost a popular walking place for locals who enjoy the sea breeze and spectacular views over the Swan River, Port Fremantle and the Indian Ocean to Rottnest Island. The park is named after the ANZAC monument and the venue is a popular dawn service location every ANZAC Day.
Weddings at Monument Hill
Garden weddings are popular at Monument Hill, usually situated with an aspect overlooking the view. When using the park for a wedding ceremony it is advisable to choose an early afternoon start time before the sea breeze kicks in which can become strong and blustery on top of the hill, especially late in the afternoon.
Wedding car and limo access
All wedding cars and limousines of any size can easily access the road through Monument Hill. There is ample parking at the top of the hill for wedding transport, however if you have a large attendance at your wedding ensure that a set down zone and parking is reserved for your wedding cars. If you want clutter free pictures in the grounds after your ceremony it will be wise to instruct guests to park away from the top of the hill. The road way through the park is one way so it is important that guests do not block the road with random parking.
Entry to the Monument Hill reserve is off High Street Fremantle with the exit leaving onto Knutsford Street.
Sunset is a special time for photos at Monument Hill because it catches the changing colours of sunset with wide vistas looking back to the ocean.
