The Old Swan Brewery in Perth has become a popular wedding reception location since its redevelopment. The open bar atmosphere opening onto the river-side court yard appeals on many levels. Aside from functions and its regular bar trade the Old Swan Brewery is a land mark tourist building much admired during Perth limo tours.
The traffic on Mounts Bay Road does not impact the venue which affords a unique Swan River vista. Couples entering their reception in their wedding limousines have the choice of entering the function room from the city end via a short walk along the foreshore promenade, or via the main entrance and walking through the old brewery complex.
Wedding Limo and Bridal Car Access
There is very limited parking on the river side of Mounts Bay Road. Larger Chrysler limos find it difficult to enter the eastern end riverside car park if it is busy, instead they drop guests of at a drop-off bay adjacent to the eastern end of the building’s driveway (at the city end) or adjacent to the main entrance further down the building. The driveway is narrow and there is no facility for a limo to park for an extended time. As you can see from the image above, larger limos cannot negotiate the main entrance turning circle so they need to drop off and exit the complex or reverse into the drop-off bay (as in the picture below) if there are no other cars in the way. There can be limited space for a limo to reverse in if the drive through is not busy.
Smaller classic wedding cars can head back to the city if needed via a tunnel under Mounts bay Road. Limos are required to travel up to the University and turn (via Hackett Drive for instance).
The pick-up point for a late night get-away is at the main entrance. The management shut the doors to the riverside (city end) car park entrance around 10.00pm.
