John Kosovich Winery
John Kosovich Winery in Perth’s Swan Valley is one of our favourite stops on many limousine wine tours. The family own and run winery remains true to its origins and offers the unique experience of tasting in the original wine cellar formed from the original concrete wine vats. Gone are the days when the wine was stored in concrete tanks underground, but the legacy wine tasting room is a highlight for many tour groups.

The 100 year old winery makes no pretension to fancy shop fronts full of oils, expensive bottles of jam or wine accessories and lets their product stand on its own. You walk through the active barrel room to descend into the cellar that houses many vintage wines along with the current offerings. Family members still present the wine tasting in what is a very authentic experience.
Noted by Ray Jordan as one of the Swan Valley’s five star wineries John Kosovich will please the discerning wine palate.

John Kosovich Wines is noted by many for their fortified wines, however, the winery also produces a great cross section of varietals in very well presented wines.
John Kosovich Winery is serious about their wines and do not readily cater for party bus loads looking for a cheap thrill. If that is your mode of transport for the day it is best to look elsewhere.

Wine tour limo access and parking
Smaller vehicles can pull into the winery entrance and park under the grove of mature grape vines shrouding the entrance to the winery (in summer).

Larger Chrysler limousines will need to drop passengers on the street verge for the short walk under the vines into the winery. When turning around in the street we will often back the limo into the drive way while guest are enjoying sampling and buying wines.

Access to John Kosovich Winery
It is important when dropping guests at the winery to usher them into the building to the tasting area. The tasting room is actually the old cellar which is accessed through the barrel room of the working winery. Access to the cellar is via a steep step ladder style set of stairs which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

If you find yourself with a group with young children or a person with restricted mobility it is important to inform the group of the risks before they enter the building.
Having said that, a visit to John Kosovich Winery is one of the most authentic Swan Valley tour experiences. It is a founding winery of the local industry still operating much as it has always done over the last fifty years.
