The Duxton Hotel is centrally located in St Georges Terrace within walking distance to the Swan River and the central shopping district. It is a popular hotel for business people, tourists and for couples as accommodation over their wedding weekend and as a reception venue.
Limousine access to the Duxton Hotel
The Duxton Hotel probably has Perth’s best best hotel entrance set-down zone. The wide entrance portico is large enough to accommodate limousines and even buses with easy access from and back onto the roadway. Vintage wedding cars are equally at home against the hotel’s facade. One of the benefits of the entrance is its width which easily allows through traffic whilst another limousine is waiting for guests.
Weddings at the Duxton Hotel
The Duxton Hotel does have a large function room which can house very large wedding receptions or divided into two for weddings of approximately 100 guests. There are also smaller rooms also used for wedding receptions. It is well suited to couples expecting guests who will require accommodation.
It is common for couples using the Duxton for their reception to hire a classic Rolls Royce or Jaguar wedding car to drive to a ceremony location such as Kings Park and on to feature wedding photography locations before returning to the hotel for the reception. On occasions couples also book a Chrysler limousine to ferry guests from city hotels to the ceremony and back to the Duxton hotel.
Parking at the Duxton Hotel in Perth
The Duxton Hotel is a popular wedding reception venue and end of wedding night accommodation venue.
Whilst the venue boasts the easiest access to the entry set down zone there is limited guest parking if you choose to use the Duxton as a reception venue. Valet parking is $48 for guests who choose this option or guests will need to park in one of the Perth city parking lots and walk to the Duxton Hotel. The nearest parking lots are the Perth Concert Hall or Terrace Road parking areas to the south of the Duxton Hotel.
End-of-night chauffeur service
Accommodation is usually provided for couples using the Duxton Hotel for their reception. Most of our end-of-wedding night chauffeur transfers at the venue are dropping couples off who have used a different venue for their reception. Having said that we do often assist with transfers of special guests from the venue, especially grandparents who are travelling home at the end of the night.
The centrally located hotel is one of the easiest places to attract short call services so your guests should have no problem finding a taxi or Uber car from the venue, especially with the assistance of the concierge.
Wedding limousines at the Duxton Hotel
Entry to the Duxton Hotel drive through portico is from Victoria Avenue whilst travelling north towards St Georges Terrace. Following the disruptions around Elizabeth Quay, when approaching the Duxton Hotel from Kings Park it is best to continue down Adelaide Terrace and turn right at the Pan Pacific and circle the block back to Victoria Avenue.
The exit is onto St Georges Terrace heading west being the natural direction to follow. There is a break in the road divide for a right turn at the exit to head east along St Georges Terrace but this can be difficult to achieve in heavy peak hour traffic and a delayed exit may block other cars travelling through and out of the Duxton Hotel driveway.
The Duxton Hotel is usually serviced by a concierge who will help direct the passing traffic and porters to assist with luggage. If you are likely to have a wait at the entrance it is usually best to wait to the right of the portico and allow through traffic to use the hotel entrance side of the driveway.
