Mallard Duck Restaurant
The Mallard Duck Restaurant has grown from a quaint Swan Valley lunch venue and has also become a popular wedding reception venue by night. The restaurant offers an al-a-carte menu at affordable prices and the view over the lake sets the scene for a relaxing family outing or lunch stop on a Swan Valley wine tour.

Weddings at the Mallard Duck Restaurant
The owner operators have nurtured the lake side environment and grounds into a beautifully landscaped garden setting. There are a variety of wedding ceremony locations with the lake as a backdrop so couples using the venue for an ‘all at one’ location wedding can choose their preferred setting.

Wedding receptions are usually held in the lake view restaurant however some couples have chosen a lakeside marquee wedding reception.
Belle Classic Limousines is proud of our long standing relationship with owners of the venue and to be their preferred wedding car supplier.

Wine tour lunch stop
The Mallard Duck Restaurant is suitable for a wine tour lunch stop for groups seeking a scenic location with good value menu options. It is not a winery or brewery so has no tasting options but does sell a range of wines and beers with meal service.

Mallard Duck parking
The Mallard Duck Restaurant has adequate parking for the number of guests that are usually involved at weddings at the venue. If needed spill over parking can occur on the lawn behind the car park.
Caution
One caution with guest parking for your wedding would be to ensure that your guests do not block the entry to the rear of the property if you intend to be dropped at either of the ceremony locations accessed via the back of the car park.
End of wedding chauffeur service
The Mallard Duck like many Swan valley wedding venues is a little off the radar for late night short call services such as taxis and Uber cars. They tend to accumulate in the busiest areas such as Perth city, Crown Casino and the Perth airport. Whilst several cars may be in the valley at any time remember that most weddings finish around the same time, So often around 20 weddings will finish between 10.00pm and midnight in the Swan Valley alone along with all the Perth based weddings and hotels and events closing for the night.
We recommend that at a minimum the bride and groom pre-book their end of night get-away and that guests who will be seeking an end of night ride home are advised to do the same.
Limousine access at the Mallard Duck
The Mallard Duck Restaurant has several possible set down locations. Groups visiting the restaurant for lunch on a wine tour simply drop just inside the car park.
Wedding parties can prefer to drop at various spots so it is important to ask the preferred location for dropping off (especially a bride to her ceremony) before you get to the venue.

For simplicity I’ve labelled the two ceremony locations ‘lakeside’ and ‘lakeview’, both are quite popular.
Lakeside ceremony
The lakeside ceremony location is a small decking which reaches out over the lake with the fountain in the background. Brides using this spot for the ceremony usually want to be dropped on the grass embankment leading down to the lake. Occasionally a bride may ask to be dropped at the top of the red carpet which is where the blue arrows end. This is easier for the classic wedding cars and only to be done if the bride requests it. After the ceremony the car can be turned around on the lawn for a simple departure if the couple are leaving the venue for off-site photographs, otherwise leave the car facing the building and photos will have the trees and garden in the background.
A Chrysler limousine can get there but it is awkward to manoeuvre for a wedding entrance and then would need to reverse out.
Lakeview ceremony
Access to the ‘lakeview’ ceremony site is achieved by driving around the boundary fence line. The narrow gate leading into the rear paddock is usually open. There are various positions a bride may prefer to be dropped next to the ceremony so take directions from her preferences.
There area is easily accessed but may need to be inspected after heavy rain to ensure it has not become boggy and too difficult for the larger Chrysler limousines.
