St Mary’s Cathedral
St Mary’s Cathedral is one of Perth’s most sought after wedding ceremony locations. Being centrally located the cathedral is close to an abundance of inner city photo location for your feature wedding photography and close to a large number of popular reception centres. The Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is a popular wedding car for couples using St Mary’s Cathedral.

Since its extensions were completed a few years ago. The spacious cathedral has a light and open atmosphere and the prestige of being Perth’s Catholic Cathedral.

The architecture and grand entrance drive provides the opportunity for a memorable entrance in a set of Jaguar Mk5 wedding cars. The cathedral facades and surrounding grounds (which receive little pedestrian traffic) help to provide a private many interesting aspects for family photographs after the ceremony.

There is limited parking available on site so it may be wise to advise guests to park in one of the adjacent car parks or the Royal Perth Hospital car park and walk to the cathedral. Whilst the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral are quiet and peaceful, the traffic in Victoria Square is always busy as it is the main access to Royal Perth Hospital and also a main cross town thoroughfare so it is unlikely for the wedding limousines to find parking adjacent to the cathedral. In many cases stretch limos will need to park a few blocks away during the service and be called to return when your wedding party is due to depart. Small limos and classic wedding cars can park in front of the cathedral with ease and are available for wedding photos on site.

St Mary’s Cathedral limousine access
St Mary’s Cathedral is well suited to vintage and classic wedding cars that match the period architecture of the building. If you are planning a large bridal party and need to hire a limousine we suggest that you consider a traditional wedding car for the bride and a shorter Rolls Royce limousine which can access the drive ramp or if you have a Chrysler limousine for the bridal party have them dropped at the gates a few minutes before the bride arrives so they can be ready at the cathedral entrance when the bridal car pulls up.

Stretch Chrysler limousines and Hummer limos (most 10 plus seat limousines) are not suited to the entrance drive and will in most cases need to drop-off and pick-up from the road way at the bottom of the entrance ramp. You may notice an occasional photo of a Chrysler limo at the cathedral front entrance doors (see our St Mary’s Cathedral gallery) but this is no longer easy to negotiate since the cathedral installed bollards along the ramps and in most cases the limo has entered the drive way against the traffic flow which can be dangerous and cause a blockage of the drive ramp with other patrons using the drive in the correct direction.
