EFYC Limousine Access
East Fremantle Yacht Club is a beautiful old clubhouse built on the river flats at the end of Petra Street East Fremantle.
The venue has spectacular views across and along the river from most areas and a large lawn area and a jetty often used by groups wishing to arrive at the location by boat.
Weddings at EFYC
The East Fremantle Yacht Club has three function rooms catering to weddings of varying sizes and budgets. The rooms have great river views, and some have balcony access to overlook the majestic Swan River.
The large waterside lawn is a popular wedding ceremony location offering the backdrop of the Swan River for photographs and the cooling effect of the early sea breeze for Western Australia summer weddings. The bride will sometimes arrive by boat when using the lawn for a wedding ceremony.
Couples have also held their wedding ceremony in the club rooms overlooking the river.
It is common for couples using the venue for their reception to be dropped at a jetty in the historic port of Fremantle or Mosman Park to be delivered to the venue by boat.
The views at the venue are enhanced because the function rooms are all on the second story. The only negative I can see is for couples who may have many elderly or frail guests. The steep access from the top car park or steps from the bottom car park means that elderly guests will probably need assistance into and from the venue.
Limousine and wedding car access
The access drive to the water’s edge has been carved into the cliff face behind the club with the main entrance to EFYC halfway down the steep ramp. A boom gate prevents access to the lower car park without stopping and having the boom raised. At the bottom car park, there is only a narrow access road along the foreshore to the parking bays with limited turning space when the car park is full.
Stretch Chrysler limousines and other ten-passenger limos are not suited to the access ramp lower car park. If you hire a stretch limousine for EFYC, you will need to alight from the limo at road level on Petra Street.
Our smaller classic wedding cars may use the ramp and turn in the lower car park.
Parking
The car park at the top of the access ramp is also on an incline with parking for about 40 cars available. The bottom car park adjacent to the river is quite large, however, access during the afternoon may be limited due to club members. It will be wise to discuss parking for guests with the venue during your early discussions if you are considering the location for your wedding reception.
