Church of St Mary the Virgin
St Mary the Virgin Church is a popular church ceremony venue south of the Swan River. It can cater for a large wedding and has a light and spacious interior and a private entrance area off the street. The all white church building also suits a wedding and couples seeking a soft light atmosphere for their wedding ceremony.
It is tempting for guests to drive off the street into the entrance beside the church, but there is very restricted parking with barely enough room for the wedding cars to park and turn so it is wise to inform guests not to enter the drive way. Parking is limited to the streets adjacent to the church, however it is a quiet area and parking is plentiful.
Wedding limousine access
The drive is short with a small turning circle requiring a three point turn for classic wedding cars. In most cases the wedding cars can be positioned for your exit in the church entrance during the wedding ceremony.
Longer stretch limos will drive into the entrance to deliver the bride to the wedding ceremony and then reverse out and turn around in the street so they can be reversed into the church car park ready for departure after the ceremony. In this manner St Mary’s entrance drive way can accommodate any wedding transport including stretch Chrysler limousines if they are your chosen wedding limos for the day.
Chauffeur notes
The church is located on the corner of Karoo Street and Ridge Street South Perth. The church’s entrance driveway is off Ridge Street with easy access from either direction for wedding cars.
Stretch limousines are probably better approaching the entrance from the Karoo Street end of Ridge Street for a wider sweep into the driveway which will be necessary if guests have parked close to the entrance or on the road side opposite the entrance on Ridge Street.
Leave the wedding cars and/or limousine in place until after the initial phase of the ceremony so engine noise does not disrupt the service and then reposition the limousines to face the exit while the guests are still in the church, during the marriage certificate signing, to ensure a safe and easy departure which will usually occur after the family photograph session.
