Weddings at Belvoir
The reception building is beautifully designed as two large function rooms which can be opened as one grand venue to host a wedding of over 400 guests with ease. The homestead has a delightful courtyard used for wedding ceremonies for couples seeking an ‘all at one venue’ wedding location.
The staff are friendly and professional, you can be confident of wedding plans unfolding with precision. The reception rooms are grand with a sweeping staircase, fireplace and period fixtures and a view window over the verandah and courtyards.
The historic homestead is surrounded by rustic gardens and pastures, which provide ample backgrounds for a variety of photographic themes. Limousine access
The elegance of the Belvoir architecture is suited to the timeless wow of classic wedding cars like a vintage Rolls Royce, however the drive and entry portico can accommodate Chrysler limos for large wedding parties or guests. Hummer limos will need to use the grounds for a less dignified entrance but can access the venue with ease too. Couples often organise a bus for guests to drive to a central location at the end of the night. Buses usually park in the field adjacent to the reception centre.
The entrance drive off the the Great Northern Highway is around 500m long so this is not the venue to be requesting a taxi pick-up at the entrance. In fact getting taxis to the northern end of the Swan Valley at night can be a problem so advising guests to organise their end of night transport ahead of the day is wise. As noted above, guest buses can also park near the reception centre if this is an option in your planning.
Parking at Belvoir Function Centre
Belvoir Reception Centre is based on a large Swan Valley property with ample parking for guests in the dedicated parking bays near the function centre. In the event of a overflow of guest requiring parking there is the potential for extra parking spaces in the adjoining paddock.
On many nights the venue will host two weddings so it may be useful to inform guests that they will be sharing the parking area with guests from the other wedding.
It is also useful to remind guests not to park in the entrance porticos used by the wedding transport or to park on the manicured lawns on the verges around the reception building.
End of night chauffeur car hire
The northern end of the Swan Valley usually struggles to attract short call taxies and Uber cars at the end of weddings. We recommend that you pre-book a chauffeur car or limousine for the bride and groom and important guests. Alert your guests too if yo do not have a bus organised to take them to a central location.
It is common to see frustrated guest walking down the Belvoir driveway after midnight in the hope that they will have more chance ‘hailing a cab’ by the roadside.
Whilst it seems there is an explosion of Uber X cars available in Perth at the moment, remember that they tend to frequent areas of high demand – Perth city, Northbridge, Perth Airport and fewer roam less popular areas. On any weekend evening up to twenty weddings in the Swan Valley will finish between 11.00pm – midnight creating a surge in demand for a small number of vehicles in the area.
Wedding cars at Belvoir
Belvoir is one of the easiest wedding venues to negotiate. The driveways have generous turning circles and there is a formal entry portico at each end of the reception venue.
For drivers who have not been inside the venue is is useful to know that it is a two room venue with a divider that allows it to be opened into a massive single reception room. It is important to establish which end of the venue you are heading to ahead of arrival or when picking up at the end of the night. When it is used as a single reception venue room the first portico is the main entrance.
Wedding photography
Photographers love the tree lined driveway coming off the Great Northern Highway for there feature wedding pictures when at the venue. As always cooperate with the photographers to place the wedding cars in the preferred orientation
