St Patrick’s Basilica
St Patrick’s Basilica is one of Fremantle’s most popular wedding venues. The large gothic style Roman Catholic church is a landmark as you enter Freo and the interior is spacious and light. The foundation stone was actually laid on St Patrick’s day in 1898.

The classic architectural lines are perfectly suited to traditional wedding cars such Rolls Royce and Jaguar limousines, however even Chrysler limos are not out of place when accompanying a classic wedding car.
There is limited parking for guests in the car park at the rear of St Patrick’s Basilica however there is plenty of parking nearby in Fremantle especially on weekends.

The Presbytery adjacent to the Basilica is an imposing building also. Both are heritage listed and make a wonderful backdrop for wedding photography.
Families will often provide refreshments for wedding guests near or on the verandah of the Presbytery after the wedding ceremony while formal family photographs are taken in the Basilica grounds.
Wedding limousine access
St Patrick’s Basilica is one of the easier churches for wedding limousines to navigate as long as guests park in the car bays and do not restrict the through drive from Parry Street through to Adelaide Street. There is the potential for the wedding limos to park in front of the Basilica although there are limited marked parking bays there. You will need to organise for the bays in front of the Basilica to be reserved if you would like to exit your wedding cars at the front gate.

Most weddings at St Patrick’s Basilica utilise the through drive for wedding car and limousine parking so the bride enters the church from the main entrance. This is also the safest option as all vehicle entry is off the road verge and the limos are available for photographs within the grounds. In most cases the wedding cars enter the Basilica grounds from Parry Street and face toward Adelaide Street in the drive beside the church unless instructed otherwise by the wedding party or the photographer.
