Barrett Lane Function Centre
Barrett Lane Reception Centre is a small venue on the eastern side of the Swan Valley. The location has a function room with views looking over the vineyard to the Swan River reserve.

Weddings at Barrett Lane
A terraced garden area next to the function room is used by couples wanting an ‘all at one venue’ wedding as the ceremony location. Couples have chosen to have the ceremony position facing various directions in this small area creating a quite different aspect for each wedding.

The property is also a working vineyard and farm so there is a range of farm debris, tanks and car bodies that may visible in the background from the wedding location and function room.

Wedding cars at Barrett Lane
The venue has no difficulties with wedding cars or longer stretched Chrysler limousines or Hummers accessing the area. A decision to be made for a bridal entrance to a ceremony is whether the bride wants to be delivered to the front or the rear of the ceremony garden.

Parking for guests is along the road verge of Lennard Street. It is important to instruct your guests not to park in front of the reception building or ceremony location so that your wedding transport can have access the bride to the ceremony and/or the wedding party to the reception after formal wedding photographs.

End of night get-aways
Barrett Lane is located a few kilometres off the Great Northern Highway. For various reasons taxis struggle to service the venue and we have seen guests walking back toward the highway after midnight because taxis have not arrived. Short call limo service Uber also struggles to have cars on call in the Swan Valley late at night. Quite simply they may be 10 – 30 weddings finishing in the valley on most Friday or Saturday nights with 100s of groups seeking a ride home between 10.30pm to 12.30am.
It will be helpful to inform your guests it is wise to pre-book a chauffeur car if they will want to be picked up from the venue following your wedding.

A nearby photo location regularly used by photographers working at the venue is the road leading down to the river reserve at the end of Barrett Road.

On Friday afternoons in peak wedding season expect that we will apply a two or three hour minimum hire if you book more than two months from the wedding date.
Wedding drop-off points
Barrett Lane has three regularly used drop-off locations. While the brides will have planned their entry they don’t usually communicate their preferred entry point on the booking form. Clarify where they want to be dropped on the way to the venue.
Front garden drop-off
Most brides choose to enter from the road side of the garden with guests facing the vines and river. In this in entry it is best to park on the lawn near or under the verge trees, hidden from the guests by the hedge row.

Rear of garden drop-off
Many brides position their guests facing the road side of the garden and want to be dropped inside the grounds. To access the rear lawn drive past the reception room and owner’s house to the drive that goes between the house and farm sheds. Care needs to be taken driving between the farm buildings. There are several pieces of machinery and farm junk to be negotiated and pot holes off the obvious driving path.

It is best to drive past the rear garden entrance and face the wedding cars back toward the entrance you drove in. Wedding photos taken as the bride leaves the car will look back over the vineyard and river reserve instead of the farm debris.

Reception room entrance
Couples arriving from an off-site ceremony usually drop-off at the entrance to the reception room.
